Atlantic City is located in Atlantic County, New Jersey. The city was always been known as a resort town and as a prime estate for developers, mainly because of its convenient weather and popular beach destination, those things are always attracting visitors and tourists.

Atlantic City struggled, and still struggles till those days, with urban problems such as crime and poverty. There are many people who claim that the gambling industry helps to magnify those problems.

The town started as a beach side carnival town, just like Coney Island, Cape May or Ocean City. During the depression Atlantic City dissolved into a forgotten town but was 'saved' by the casino and gambling industry in 1978 when the first casino was opened.

Most of the casino industry in Atlantic City relies heavily on Las Vegas in terms of labor and management. Although most of the hotel labor in Atlantic City is indeed local, the executives and the operating managers of the industry in the city were recruited from Las Vegas.

Many visitors to Atlantic City are there on an impulse, while visitors to Las Vegas are those who planned their vacation months ahead.
